JLB Expertises Ivory Coast

Created in 1997, JLB Expertises Ivory Coast is the oldest company of JLB Expertises in Africa and is organized through two offices in Abidjan and in San Pedro.

JLB Expertises Ivory Coast surveyors and supervisors are all trained to do surveys on various imported goods (rice, sugar, frozen products, etc.) and are able to monitor unloading operations of breakbulk and bulk cargo. The capacity of our staff to travel enable us to appoint them to sites within the country or to assignments within the sub-region.

JLB IC also works on the main agricultural products exported from Ivory Coast : cocoa, coffee, sugar, cashew nuts, bananas, ananas, mangoes, cotton… JLB Expertises IC is very active in controls of exported cocoa (prevention, quality control, weighing controls, etc.). It is equipped with two laboratories (respecting the FCC norms) for quality controls on cocoa (Abidjan and San Pedro).

JLB Expertises Ivory Coast is the Head Office of JLB Expertises for West Africa. Mrs Carole Trolez, Sworn Broker, has been the director of JLB Expertises Ivory Coast since 1999 and supervises the activities of the offices within the region.

JLB Expertises Africa (Ghana)

JLB Expertises Africa in Ghana has two offices : one in the port of Tema and the other in the port of Takoradi.

We are able to perform any kind of surveys and monitoring of unloading operations for various imported goods : rice, sugar, frozen products. Our supervisors are able to intervene anywhere in the country.

JLB Expertises Ghana is very active in damage prevention as well as quality controls on cocoa. Our office in Tema is equipped with a laboratory respecting FCC standards.

For instance, JLB Expertises Ghana controls each and every shipment of cocoa shipped by the Ghana Cocoa Board

JLB Expertises Togo

JLB Expertises Togo performs quality controls and monitoring of loading operations of cocoa.

Our staff is also working on monitoring of unloading operations of breakbulk cargo and on damage surveys on various imported goods.

JLB Madagascar

JLB Madagascar, based in Tamatave, has been created in 2010 in association with the French laboratory Vanalyse, specialized in the analysis of Vanilla and spices and in partnership with the CTHT, local association, promoting the horticultural sector of the eastern coast of Madagascar

Quality controls :

JLB Madagascar performs quality controls on exported agricultural products : vanilla, spices (cloves, pepper, cinnamon, pink peppercorns, etc.), cocoa and essential oils (cloves, pepper, cinnamon, etc.)

With its own laboratory, JLB Madagascar is the first and only private and independent company in Madagascar able to carry out analyses by chromatography. These technics allows the separation of all the components of the natural products. With our analyses by HPLC (High performance liquid chromatography) we are able to determine precisely the quantity of active materials. It is the benchmark method to determine vanillin rate in vanilla beans (ISO 5565). Gas chromatography is adapted for the quality controls of essential oils.

Surveys and monitorings :

The staff of JLB Madagascar is also trained in surveys on various goods and monitoring of unloading operations in the mains ports of the Island : Tamatave, Diego Suarez, Nosy Be, Tuléar, Majunga.

Monitoring of containers

We are delivering containers monitoring reports for all kind of exported goods. We follow the container from its stuffing until delivery to MICTSL stevedore (in Tamatave) and we attend the custom scan operations. We also deliver weight certificate.

Our offices and agencies

In all our offices, our staff is exclusively JLB Expertises. In some countries we have set partnerships with local companies in order to abide by the national legislation.

We are able to look into any other destinations in addition to the ones listed below. Our supervisors are regularly sent abroad on assignments. Moreover, our various geographies make it easy for us to react rapidly to any requests.

Cameroun – Douala

Because of the legislation of the country, our activity is done in partnership with a local structure. Our local surveyor, M. Francis TANKEU, works exclusively for JLB Expertises and has a 10-year experience in the survey of agricultural goods. We are also organized to work in the two ports of EQUATORIAL GUINEA (Bata and Malabo) and in SAO TOME.

Gambia - Banjul and Guinea Bissau

One of the oldest offices of JLB Expertises. Our agent, M. Bamba NJIE has a 12-year experience and knows perfectly the ports of Banjul, Bissau and Dakar where he regularly works for us.

Guinea Conakry

During unloading operations of vessels in this port we apply strict rules of tally and monitoring : the site must be secured, non-compliant trucks are turned down ; some damages must by assessed contradictory at ship’s tackle. JLB Expertises was the first company to put in place such strict rules, under the direction of M. Mamoudou DIALLO, who has a 15 year-experience in surveys and who has been in charge of our office in Conakry since 2006.

Sierra Leona : Freetown

On going restructuring. Our office in Sierra Leona is currently supervised by M. Mamoudou DIALLO and Alpha Boubacar BARRY from our office in Conakry.

Liberia - Monrovia

In this port, JLB Expertises is spreading its geographies through the development of a laboratory for cocoa analysis as well as by considering partnerships to perform surveys in this country.

Nigeria – Lagos

Our new office in Nigeria specialises in cocoa and performs many quality controls and monitoring of loading and stuffing operations. We are able to organize monitoring of unloading operations of rice and sugar in the main ports of this country.

Mozambique – Maputo

We are developing our activities in this port where, for several years, we have been monitoring unloading operations of breakbulk rice cargo under the supervision of our subsidiary JLB Expertises IC.

Mayotte

101st French department, Mayotte is importing more and more goods. In case of damage during transport of one of these goods, our agents are able to quickly perform damage surveys in the port of Longoni.
